Sinusitis are two types: acute and chronic. acute sinusitis can be cured in less than a month. Patients can start treatment, cure themselves and go for rhinoplasty. So there is no worry about them.
Chronic sinusitis, however, take more than 3 months and have separate treatments which can be medicinal or surgical. Patients who are suffering from the infectious secretions are worried that the infection in their sinuses might affect the result of rhinoplasty. The truth is, this infection does not have any effect on the result of surgery. Therefore, doing rhinoplasty for patients of chronic sinusitis is possible.
Will rhinoplasty increase allergy and sinusitis?
Not at all. Allergy is relevant to the internal nasal receptors and their oversensitivity. While rhinoplasty only makes changes on the framework of nose, therefore these two conditions are not prohibitions for doing rhinoplasty. Doing or not doing nose surgery does not have any effect on making it worse or better.
