1- Stop smoking
If you are smoker, you need to stop smoking for at least two weeks before the surgery. Smoking reduces the amount of oxygen in blood and increases the risk of respiratory problems during surgery. One of the factors that is constantly monitored and controlled during the rhinoplasty is the amount of Oxygen in the blood.
You are advised to refrain from all nicotine products, including cigarettes, pipe tobacco and nargile.
2- Stop taking Asprin or Ibuprofen
Do not take aspirin or aspirin-containing medications 7 days before and after the nose surgery. These medications may cause bleeding during the surgery and after that. Many pain relievers that are used for cold and sinus medications contain aspirin or ibuprofen.
3- Make sure about your general health
If you have liver illness background in your family, make sure you are not infected with HCV virus; otherwise if the result of your blood test indicates the opposite; you cannot do the surgery. Make sure you are not HIV positive and do not have anemia problem.
4- Make arrangements
It is essential to have someone available who is able to spend the day and night of surgery with you. Your parents, brother or sisters or a close friend would be your best helpers.
If you are travelling alone, our comfort package would be mandatory. An experiences and english-fluent staff of Dr. HOSNANI will spend the day with you and you will be hospitalized at the clinic for the night (Just the way Amal did). No nursing experience is necessary for your helper.
